I needed to find something more stable with a young family and mortgage payments. Then, I got offered a great opportunity at a big corporate company. Perfect!
I worked for Electrical Wholesalers, covering hundreds of branches across the UK. Life was high-pressured and fast-paced, dealing with well-known national account clients, and the stakes were worth millions.
Despite the success, I always felt I could do better and had much more to offer.
Everything changed in January 2020 when I was unexpectedly made redundant just weeks before the Covid lockdown. With the job market wiped out, I found myself at a crossroads.
The idea of building something from scratch and helping other businesses appealed to me deeply.
It was then that I decided to fall back on my extensive knowledge on how to win new business and pursue my passion for helping others.
I’d decided to become a Business Growth Consultant.
Starting a new company during a pandemic felt like the worst timing possible. Business was drying up, and a recession was imminent.
I was plagued with doubts, fearing that I would fail miserably and lose every penny I had.
My turning point came when I attended a webinar that resonated deeply with me. The presenter was a seasoned marketer who had built his coaching business by genuinely helping others.
His practical guidance and no-nonsense advice on what actually works were invaluable to me.
With my mentor's encouragement and countless hours of training, I took the leap and launched my small business consultancy.
It was a daunting yet exhilarating step into the unknown, with no guarantees of success or customers.
Starting out was far from easy. I faced massive technical hurdles, financial strains, and fierce competition from hundreds of cheap but inexperienced marketing agencies.
However, I managed to cut through the noise and connected with a community of like-minded business owners who provided real support and practical advice that actually worked.
After months of hard work and learning from my failures, I began to see progress. My website traffic increased, I secured a significant contract, and fresh leads started coming in through LinkedIn.
My first few clients were thrilled with their results, and I began to dream bigger.
My greatest test came when my largest contract ended naturally. It felt like a punch to the gut, threatening my finances and shaking my confidence.
Devastated but determined, I re-evaluated my strategies, sought advice from my mentor, and worked tirelessly to turn things around.
Through sheer perseverance, I landed a high-profile local client who significantly boosted my business's visibility. This rewarding moment validated all my hard work and resilience.
With my business thriving, I upgraded my skills and expanded my core services to address the numerous challenges business owners face in growing a profitable business.
My final test came when I decided to scale my business. This required a complete overhaul, leading to the creation of my "Marketing Machine" concept.
This new model combined 1-2-1 business consulting, digital automation software, and done-for-you marketing services.
It was a life-changing shift, and I emerged more confident and capable than ever.
Today, I’m dedicated to helping business owners create profitable installation businesses, relieve their stress, and regain their spark.
My goal is to help them spend more time with family and friends, reclaim their social lives, and focus on their health.
I truly believe that anyone can achieve their dreams with passion, persistence, and the right guidance.
